These Witches ROCKED THE HOUSE! The band did too, of course! I have to say, this party was TERRORIFIC hit! Thanks to our favorite coven of night time marauders and their band of mystic melody makers, everyone had a fantastic time! So much so, that they literally had to push us into the next room to do the raffle. Nobody wanted to leave!
Witches in Bikinis joined Stray from the Heart in our 1st Annual Howl-O-Ween Ball! A bewitching kitsch cabaret with bikini clad witches singing and dancing along to great Halloween masterpieces like "Video Vixen Vampire" & "Subway Spooks", helping save strays with a performance devoted to all the devilish dogs out there looking for homes! There was singing, dancing, and more spooktacular fun that you can shake a tailbone at! If you had an extra one lying around, that is.
Although nobody came dressed as a witch in a bikini, we did have some that were interested in joining the coven show up and a yummy little chew toy spoke to us for a bit (One of our two favorite board members... Beth). We also announced our new mascot name and the winner of our "Name our Mascot" contest. Cindy and VJ of PitBullSaloon.com and thier baby Jak were the resounding favorites! And JAK is our new mascot name. Jak (our mascot) loved getting a name and being in the spotlight so much, it's going a little to his warm and fuzzy head. I think he's going to start his own MySpace area, so stay tuned. We love the real Jak and Cindy and VJ for all they do for the dogs!

Thanks to all of you that came and all of the amazing volunteers we had running around like crazy that night. Congratulations to Tom Wissman of Pre-Paid Legal who happened to be the best one to "Party Like A Chimpanzee" (above images)! He won some Witches in Bikini goodies and a load of fans for the effort. Also, check out Pre-Paid Legal's special offer to Stray supporters. For any new Stray clients in the month of October, Stray will recieve a $50 donation! You can protect your identity and the legal rights of you and your family for as little as $0.87 per day.
Thanks to Nelson, Bonita, Ila, Brian, Kenny, Fetch fashion for showing off the latest in Howl-O-Ween doggy wear and donating doggy outfits we accidentally forgot to raffle off (no worries, Home for the Holidays is coming soon!), the awesome staff at Mo Pitkins (especially our Harry Potter bartender and Lola Rock-and-Rolla), and our popular and sexy seer Destiny! Look her up for your next party and check out Mo Pitkins for your venue (ask for Larry).
If you missed it, well at least we have great photos. We were also videotaped for HDNet, so we are going to try and get a copy to post as well. Whether you missed it or you want to relive it, go get yourself a black martini, pop in the Witches in Bikinis CD and then sit back and bask in the bewitching sounds and the boo-tiful girls. All proceeds went to saving dogs!

Name our Mascot Contest
You have all seen him in and around our emails, invitations and newsletters for years now, but it was never official.
WELL NOW IT IS - JAK!
Jak, after Cindy and VJ's little baby boy, who is terminally
ill. According to his family, "He is a Stray from the Heart success story, and the CEO of the "CowPuppies". His
courage and strength while being
sick, taking his pills, and getting his IV, is an inspiration to everyone.
He puts on a brave face every day, for my wife and I, and his two
sisters, Cowgirl and Daisy, when we all know he doesn't feel good. He is
the bravest dog I have ever know and will be missed, when the day comes,
more then you can imagine. You can't find a better name for your mascot,
then Jak. JAK could stand for "Joy, Affection and Kinship", everything a stray offers when adopted, that's if his name is chosen."
Congratulations to Jak and his family! Visit the real Jak at http://www.pitbullsaloon.com/Jak.asp.
