Sophie

Sophie gets a new leash on life! Sophie, a chocolate lab/setter was in agony with an ulcerated eye when Stray From the Heart took her in. She was immediately taken off of the euthanasia list at the ACC, then underwent surgery to remove her eye at the NYC Veterinary Specialists. Sophie spent time resting and healing at Beth's apartment before finding a loving home with her new family

Letter from Home:

I just wanted to tell you how much I love this girl! She is such a gift, and she is bringing so much joy into every minute I spend with her. When I think about what her life must have been like before she met you, her angel on earth, I could cry. I am so grateful to you for what you do and for bringing her into my life. Sophie gets a new leash on life!

Sophie is taking to her brother Henry, slowly letting him in. We went to Grandma's for Sunday dinner yesterday, and they played in the yard. Then, Sophie found herself a little nook in my Mom's kitchen where she watched my mom cook all afternoon.

This morning, she woke me up with a big kiss. What a way to start the day! She is a little miracle dog. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
