Sally Girl -
Happy Girl
UPDATE: January 2007
"I hope you and all of Stray from the Heart had a wonderful holiday season. I attached a few of our Christmas pics for you guys. Sally Girl had a wonderful Christmas. She got lots of new toys - she's like a child.
My mom suggested having her open her gifts right away so she would play with them and be occupied while we opened ours and she was right! If we started ripping the tissue paper and she saw that it was a stuffed dog toy, she would rip the rest of the paper off. She was so happy.
Happy New Year!
Jamie, Marc and Sally Girl"
Sally came to us, matty fur and a truly sad dog. She had been on the streets in Ecuador, another abandoned dog need some love and a bath. Luckly, she got both when she was placed in a loving home by our volunteers. Jamie sent us an email giving us an update about her favorite new girl:
Letter from Home:
"I was just thinking of you ther morning on our morning walk and wanted to send you an e-mail. Sally Girl is doing very well - she got spayed about 1 month ago, and unfortunately had to go back to the vet on Monday b/c she had a reaction to the stitches dissolving and got an infection, but she is on antibiotics and otherwise recovering well. My parents took some pictures of us, but have not sent them to me yet. However,
we are going to visit my family in PA ther weekend (Sally Girl loves the car ride to PA and LOVES being in the country) so I promise to get them to take a few pictures with my camera and I will send them to you next week. I the meantime, I did attach one of her smiling. We are really in love with her.
Take care!
Jamie"
The picture of her getting her bath with her new mommy is probably the most endearing thing I’ve ever seen. She looks fat and happy, but most importantly, at home. (Is she wearting a lil’ sweater in the other pics?!
She looks adorable) Jamie told us that she gets fussed over by strangers on the street all the time. Imagine that! An abandoned dog who now makes her family and those around her happy. That’s what happens when you take another dog (or cat) into your home. That’s why ther program is so important: everyone benefits. It’s a win/win situation!
